During his two decades in public relations, John Mooney has delivered award-winning programs and measurable business results for Fortune 100 Companies, Consumer Brands, Small Businesses, Entrepreneurs, and Nonprofit Organizations.

Before founding his own firm, John had a long career at a top ten global p.r. firm and at several small p.r. companies. John and his teams have advised clients such as Allstate Insurance, American Express, Beaulieu Vineyard, ChevronTexaco, Häagen Dazs, HP, Kellogg, Motorola, Puerto Rico Tourism, TIAA-CREF, Unilever, U.S. Army MWR, and Wal-Mart. He also has counseled the AIDS Quilt, Special Olympics, MS Society (NYC chapter), and Derek Jeter’s Turn 2 Foundation. John has media-trained countless celebrity spokespeople, corporate CEOs, and executives from numerous organizations in need of crisis counseling.

John Mooney has played a leading role on high profile, award-winning programs, including “a Journey for 9/11”, Bronze Anvil winner in 2009 for Media Relations (working with Winuk Communications); the AIDS Quilt Tour of Historically Black Colleges, Big Apple Award winner for Cause-Related Marketing (with Hill & Knowlton); and Ragú Express “Express Yourself,” SABRE Award for Youth Marketing (with Hill & Knowlton). In 2008, John was profiled in PR Week for “Foley’s Bans Danny Boy,” an initiative that garnered Foley’s NY Pub & Restaurant worldwide attention and a 25 percent spike in sales for the entire year. He also was a contributor to PR News' Best/Worst PR Advice Guidebook and has been quoted on public relations issues in the Star-Ledger and Fox News Channel.

Earlier in his career, John was Director of P.R. and Marketing for City Harvest, New York’s food rescue program. He served as spokesperson, designed marketing materials, oversaw fund raising efforts, and publicized events with the 21 Club, American Express “Charge Against Hunger,” NY Yankees, Donald Trump, NY’92, and Madison Square Garden, among others.

A former reporter for CBS Network Radio, Irish Radio Network, Overtime (magazine for pro athletes), and numerous Irish American publications, John has covered White House events, papal visits, the World Series, championship boxing, and World Cup Soccer.

John earned his MBA in Marketing from Rutgers, and his BA in Communications from Fordham. He is an adjunct at Berkeley College (Manhattan), where he teaches marketing courses. He has guest lectured at St. John’s University’s Sports Management Program, NYU’s Summer Institute of Public Relations, and Cornell’s School of Hotel Management.
